RC Cars – “Which One do i Get “

The difference between a toy rc car and a hobby grade rc car is a universe away in terms of quality, control and basic componants. With a toy rc car you can not fine tune the streering controls and the brakes, also it will most likley veer off and have limited control and the car will be jerking around and not so smooth. When you crash a toy shop radio control car and trust me at some point you will, you will have no choice but to bin it like most people end up doing… Why ?

well you can’t get spare parts for toy grade RC s as these are normally cheap products made in china and parts are just not availible.

A true rc car will have parts availible and can be upgraded or modified and the quality will be much better, the response will also be much more accurate so you can judge taking corners or braking times.

The cost for a hobby rc car is more money but in the long run its well worth the investment as the thrills and excitement of a fast screaming radio control car racing around a track or park is priceless and total fun every time. Rc cars come in various sizes and range from 1/28th scale being classed as a mini rc to a massive 1/8th scale like the “acme Warrior rc buggy and the Werewolf rc car. These are awesome in size and are loaded with features and great spec, and less than a few hundred pounds you will have a quality piece of kit and a top speed of 60 km/h and a quality controller.

1/10th scale radio controlled cars are most common and most come fully built and ready to run out the box or if you have time there are also self build rc car kits where you build them up in stages , thus learning about how they work and all the parts that make up a rc car.

Electronic speed controls.  The (ESC) is a device on the electronics that transmits a signal from the radio controller to the rc car telling it to move faster or slower also turns and some have the capability to have a reverse, although nitro and petrol rc cars do not have as standard. Most rc cars come with pre painted bodyshells and stickers to apply but you can get blank clear bodyshells so you can paint or spray up your own colours or designs, rc trucks are common to have these and off rd rc buggys. It is always a good idea to have ventilation and most cut a hole though the front windscreen and you can cut the clear windows with a craft knife so they look half open  -thus getting plenty of air flow to keep the engine cool as when to hot the body shell can melt under the heat.

With a RC model it is worth to buy the best with the money you have to get a good quality 2 channel controller and basic features like oil-filled shocks, full suspension, ESC and 2 speed gearbox and maybe a steering servo, expect to pay around £150 -250 for a good hobby grade model and you can always add upgrades and chrome exhausts, wheels and much more at a later date.

Power options

There are three powered types of rc cars -  Electric – Nitro –  Petrol

Electric rc cars are common as they are very easy to use with hardly any maintainence needed. Now days electric rc cars are pretty quiet and with brushless motors now being used more and more, a brushless car can hit 60 mph and they can run much longer without getting too hot.

The batteries come in a few options and a 1800amh is a good load and a spare is also needed so you can keep going, and a good tip is to use rechargable batteries on the controller as they can get costly if using throw aways.

Nitro is a fuel burning power and with a nitro rc car there is a little more work involved as nitro fuel is messy and highly flammeable and when buying a new nitro car the engine has to be broken in slowly and this involves slowly running the car on a level ground for 5 -7 short runs without using full throttle at any time or this will damage the engine and limit the preformance.

Always use rechargable batteries as then you will always know you have fresh batteries as this is important because if they run low while driving the nitro car, you will lose control if they go under 8.5 V and just hope its not heading for a lake or busy road and also if you are going to race or go to park for day its typical the batteries will go dead as your having fun. Electric RC s do not like water and its very easy to go though a puddle and fry the ESC or the electric pack, to prevent this i use a balloon and pull over the electric box and tape all wires and open ends up and silocone to seal gaps up. Alway check all screws are tight as these work loose and if lost while running then the chance of finding is slim and the RC will be shelved until you order the new parts.

Are Nitro RC Cars Safe For Kids?

One of the fastest ways to have a high performance remote controlled car, is by using Petrol radio controlled cars. Petrol RC cars are amongst the highly adopted toy cars from the spectrum of nitro cars. Nitro RC cars are cars that do not function like electric power where you need to charge up the battery and use it till it runs out. On the contrary, power derived from fuels allows you to run your remote controlled car for longer periods of time between fill-ups. As one can imagine, when using a fuel as compared to a battery for power to these little rc cars, you get a much more powerful car.

Consequently, many individuals who encounter these cars for the first time, also find that it can be dangerous given that the little car can travel as fast as 60 mpg. So the kinetic energy that is built up from one of these little cars is impressive. And then there is the fact that the rc cars are filled with gas. This reasoning could also explain the reality that many individuals think that gas powered RC cars can explode.

As with the increased performance, nitro rc’s are awesome fun and faster than the electric model rc’s. Also with nitro cars you can take some fuel with you and keep filling up and racing around, with a electric RC once you have run down the batteries then you’ll need to recharge for a few hours before carrying on. I recommend using rechargeable batteries as this will save you a lot money and time. Having a gas powered car is not the easier way to start if you are a beginner.

Because these tiny petrol engines are modeled on their life-size counterparts to a large degree, they enjoy the advances in technology. Electrics, on the other hand, don’t have a life-size counterpart, and so there isn’t a wealth of technological advance to draw from. This can mean that they can be driven in ways that ordinary production line cars can not. For example, in the case of a real sports car, it often takes no more than five seconds to go from 0 to 100 mph. However, these small petrol rc cars can get there much faster because they are so much smaller.

Nitro RC Cars ” How To guide “

Nitro rc cars are becoming very popular now and is a fun hobby. With nitro cars there is a little more extra work to do than electric rc cars, but the speed nitro brings is awesome.

Below is a general round up on questions and answers on getting a nitro rc car and how to start them.

Q. What age are nitro radio controlled cars recommended for?
A.  14+ is best. But any younger than 14 you should be prepared to help them with the maintenance, and handle the fuel Nitro RC cars can be a great educational toy and introduction to engineering.

Q. What is the radio range?
A. About 100m but it’s always best to do a range check before use, or you could lose control of the vehicle

Q. How do I stop the engine on a nitro car ?
A. Just Cover the exhaust hole with finger or a cloth for a second or 2 and it will turn off.

Q. What kind of fuel do I use?
A. Fuel used is sold from model shops or online. Always use a good branded nitro fuel with a 10-30% content for normal usage.

Q. What speed do nitro RC cars do?

A. Nitro models can hit 60- 70 mph.

This is a serious hobby which brings great rewards so read on for information on all areas of buying and starting nitro RC s and more.

How To Run In Your Nitro Model

The engine needs to be Run-in before full-time use. It is very important that this procedure is carried out. Not doing so will shorten the life of the engine and can ruin it.

There are two different methods you can do to run the nitro engine in. The first way is easier and is also safer as you be less likely to burn the clutch out. I find this way best or with the second method it is more complicated but if done correctly will give a little more life to your nitro engine.

To run your car in, take your finished model and roll it back and forth to be certain the nitro car wheels can turn freely. Then Place the car in a position so that the wheels are off the ground, like on a brick and start the car up and leave to run idle though 3 tanks of fuel make sure between each tank you leave the engine to cool down for about 10 minutes. It is very important to not rev the engine at all as you will badly damage it and also you will break the conrods.

By doing this and taking the time to run your nitro RC car in properly you will have no problems.

The engine should be broken-in on a smooth hard surface. Try to avoid breaking-in the engine on very hot or humid days. Ensure that the idle speed is not too high or else you will burn your clutch out or snap the con rod, and also make sure that the brake is not applied.

Always break-in your engine without the body on the car, you want as much airflow as you can get to keep the engine cool. Do not run the engine too lean or you will over heat it and cause permanent damage to the internal components of the nitro engine.

It is normal for the engine to use a lot of fuel during the break-in. This is because you are running it “richer” than you normally would to keep the engine cool and to flush out the engine as the parts “seat” themselves. Because of the richer than normal setting the performance of the engine will be limited. After break-in, you will then lean it out to gain performance back..

Method 1:

Once it starts and is idling slowly place it on the ground and drive it slowly on a flat surface. For the first use do not let the engine run for more than 3 minutes. Carry on running slowly for short periods until you have gone through 2 – 3 tanks of fuel.

Do not over accelerate at all during this procedure, as it will severely damage the engine. After each idling time, let the nitro rc car rest for about 10 minutes between each tank. Running in makes sure that the engine is operating correctly before you take it out for a proper run. It is best not to run though any puddles or water as this could burn out the electrics but you can always tape up wires, use silicone on gaps and around the electric box and make sure the screws are all tight before and after each run as these can work loose and you could lose parts while running your car around a park or track.

Always empty the fuel after using as condensation can build up in the engine and damage it if left for a long time and always clean the wheels and ball joints and generally all over as a lot of dirt, sand or mud can build up. This does not take long and keeping the car clean and maintaining it will keep it running good and no money to keep buying spare parts, so it makes sense and also using normal batteries in the controller will run down pretty quick and once the batteries go to under 9V s you could lose control of car if using or worse crash it. Trust me get good rechargeable batteries and then you will always know you have a full charge and you will also save a lot of money in the long run.

Now you know how to break in a nitro RC car but one other thing is that the car will act strange and not run properly while you are using. Don’t panic this is normal and it will stall a lot, but this happens to every new car just keep with it and slightly adjust the tuning screw and it will become smooth and an easy ride. This is called “engine break-in” just like when you buy a real brand new car with no mileage on.

After a couple of tanks of fuel your patience will pay off with a strong, reliable running engine.

If you own a RC Nitro car then regular maintenance is a must..

1. Perform a visual inspection on your rc car -

Check there is no cracks in body or damage anywhere.

Tires are good check rims are still glued well.

2. Wipe down rc car with paper towels or cloth all over

and you can use a small toothbrush to get to awkward parts to clean.

3. Clean air filter with soapy water and rc air filter oil.

These can get real dirty an mud, debris can clog the filter up. You’re need

to wash all the parts and dry so make sure to be careful when taking the filter apart.

4. Draining the nitro fuel tank.

If you will not be using your rc nitro car for a while. it is always best to

Drain the nitro fuel out as condensation can build up and this water will mix with

The nitro fuel and seriously damage the engine.

5. Charge up batteries and check over the receiver control is ok.

Doing the above will save you time and money and should take no

Longer than around 40 – 60 minutes.

Remote Control Parts-How To Create The Perfect Vehicle

Remote control parts are primarily needed for one of three reasons.  Some serious hobbyists like to build their own models from scratch.  This gives them the ability to get exactly what they want and then have the pride in knowing that they have a true original.  Other people like to customize their existing vehicles.  Although some may think this is much less complicated than building from the ground up, it is sometimes even more exciting to figure out how to work with the challenges that altering an existing structure present.  However, unfortunately, another common reason to need these parts is to fix a broken vehicle.  Especially for seasoned enthusiasts, repairs are usually inevitable, even with the most well built model.

For people that use their vehicles often, and for those that customize and build their own models, they are in constant need of a variety of remote control parts and tools.  It can often present a challenge to find exactly what you need when you need it.  For this reason, many people like to find one supplier that they can trust and rely on and use them for the majority of their building and repairing needs.  By doing this, it is easier to know the quality of the items you are getting and can then be assured that they will arrive exactly when you need them.

When purchasing either a pre-made vehicle or built-it-yourself kit, it is also a good idea to order a few extra parts.  Although many people do not think to buy replacement remote control parts until after a problem has occurred, doing this ahead of time will prevent any downtime and, therefore, allows you to continue to enjoy your hobby without any interruption.  Another benefit of thinking ahead is that you will not run the risk of being unable to find the right parts.  As models change all the time, you never want to be in the frustrating situation of no longer being able to order a part that fits your vehicle.

Having a variety of parts to choose from also allows you the freedom to experiment.  While some people choose to simply run their remote control vehicles casually, many hobbyists like to really see what their models are capable of doing.  By playing around with different parts you can see what has the best affect on speed, performance, and design.  Therefore, finding a reputable company for your remote control parts is a great way to enhance your hobby.

Features That Make Internet Marketing Effective and Powerful Marketing System

Please let me tell you about the Internet marketing systems I use and find helpful. This information may be of some benefit to you, especially if your goal is to monetize your site or earn an income from your online marketing.

I have an Art/Education background but in the last couple of years I have been studying online marketing systems and using them.

Yes, studying them, since I have an art background I like to examine structures and beneath the surface of things in order to gain a clearer picture. I like to see the whole picture – the big picture. But what’s beneath the surface excites me the most: the structure holding everything in place, how they are designed, the methods and tools used to make these marketing systems work. For more details visit to www.podcastings-teleprompter.com .Keep in mind that I still feel a bit funny referring to myself as an Internet marketer. Last week my marketing efforts made me around a thousand dollars. I don’t know if that qualifies me as an Internet marketer or not – probably not. Most of the people with whom I associate and have contact, make that in a day. The really smart ones make that in an hour.

A thousand dollars in one hour?

How is that possible? Well, the marketing experts who earn the big d’s – usually have complex automated marketing systems set up and operating on the Internet. These systems start with their own products but quickly expand and build with large opt-in lists or ezines, 1000′s of affiliates, large JV networks, multi-sites, viral marketing, membership forums, brandable e-books, online marketing tools/resources and the list goes on…

No doubt you may have stumbled across some of these marketing systems on the Internet… one of the first I encountered was Internet Marketing Center run by the late Corey Rudl who died tragically in a car crash at the young age of 34. I made my first affiliate check through Corey’s system and it changed the way I looked at the Internet forever. And the check was only $5!

What helped me earn that $5 were not only my own efforts but more importantly the whole marketing system behind IMC. It took an ordinary webmaster and showed him how to market on the web. It showed me the way. More importantly, it also taught me that Internet marketing is a skill anyone can learn.

These marketing systems can be good places for the beginning marketer to learn those skills. There are many marketing systems quietly working the Internet. Some of the best (in my opinion) are Ken Evoy’s whole Site Sell system, Marlon Sanders Higher Response Marketing, John Reese’s Traffic Secrets, Bryan Winter’s Pushbutton Publishing, Jeff Mulligan’s CBmalls, and Nitro Marketing.

These Internet marketing systems are all different, yet they all have common elements or features that make them very effective and powerful marketing systems. A close examination of the different components or parts might give you a better understanding of what makes these Internet marketing systems work.

Here’s a list of the different parts of an effective Internet Marketing system:

* Founder or Helm: All these marketing systems have a strong leader or founder at the helm. A very vocal and forceful communicator or spokesperson is needed as a focal point. And like any company, it’s only as good as the person leading it. Because the Internet is still a very ‘scary’ place for the average user – a friendly outgoing spokesperson is needed to break down those barriers (real or imaginary).

* Unique Product or Products: Most of the effective marketing systems have their own products to market. These can be digital information products, web building/hosting packages, or even self-contained marketing systems – or all of the above. Some popular products that come to mind would include Ken Evoy’s whole Site Sell and SiteBuildIt line, or Jeff Mulligan’s CBmalls promoting Clickbank.

* Databases or Lists: All these systems collect and keep large databases or opt-in permission contact lists of customers and potential customers. The real net value of any marketing system is in the quantity and more importantly the quality of its lists. All deliver a weekly or daily ezine or ezines to these lists. Consider these databases as the engines that empower any Internet marketing system.

* JV Networks: Most have large Joint Venture Networks or contacts that will kick-start any new product. Momentum and sales are created with these JV partners. An ideal JV partner is a well-respected online marketer with very responsive and very large opt-in lists. If databases are like engines, JV networks will fill those engines with the fuel they need.

* Affiliates: The best marketing systems use 1000′s of affiliates to promote and market their products. This is usually done in-house with their own affiliate program or onsite software set up. Some use third party affiliate programs like Clickbank, 1ShoppingCart, Commission Junction, Link Share, or Shareasale. This is your ignition.

* Autoresponder: One of the most effective marketing tools these systems use, autoresponder, is essential for delivering the sales. A series of follow-up e-mails will increase sales dramatically. Studies have shown that it takes 6 or 7 follow-ups before someone purchases your product. Consider the autoresponder as a fuel injection system.

* Tracking and Marketing Resources: All have extensive tracking and marketing resources, usually located online within a membership site. So too are marketing resources such as banners, links, coupons, graphics, SEO tactics, landing pages, lead capture pages, brandable reports, articles and e-books. Obviously, these are your toolkit.

* Viral Marketing: All great Internet marketing systems use viral marketing techniques. This can be as simple brandable reports, articles, software or e-books. Affiliates can embed their own IDs and pass these viral products along to their friends and visitors. These useful viral products then get passed around all over the web – creating links and funneling prospects back to your marketing system. Consider viral marketing your Turbo Charger.

* Online Forums: Many of the better Internet Marketing systems will have an online forum where members can network and interact and could offer workshops and tutorials. This is a vital community building tool that must not be overlooked or underestimated. It will greatly enhance the effectiveness of any marketing system, building a foundation and launch pad for any new products. Online forums are your gas stations.

* Cross Promotion: These marketing systems can become very complex: promoting programs within programs, cross-networking whole systems within systems, joint ventures within joint ventures. Marketing seminars, conventions and workshops are other lucrative features these systems use to market their products and to network with other marketers. This is your Hybrid fuel.

* Corporate Blogs: Most have company blogs or a network of members’ blogs. It’s important to realize the power of these relatively new mediums for getting the word out. RSS feeds are also used to syndicate your sales message and content. That would be your satellite radio.

* Affiliate Incentives: The better marketing systems have affiliate incentives and contests to motivate their sales force – from cruises to Ferraris.

* They Pay Their Affiliates On Time: This might seem trivial, except to the affiliate. The best Internet marketing systems build trusting relationships by paying their affiliates regularly and on time. They develop and harvest those trusting relationships with thousands or even millions of affiliates. This is your accelerator.

* Automation: Automation is the one key element that makes all of the above possible. These Internet marketing systems are automated to the highest degree possible. Without automation these large marketing networks could not function. Therefore, almost all the day-to-day operation of a marketing system is automated and can run smoothly without much work or maintenance. This is the grease that makes everything run.

* Internet: These marketing systems have taken full advantage of the World Wide Web and used it to their benefit. It permits global marketing with affiliates in every country around the world. This large multinational marketing force is made possible only with the creation of the Internet. Consider it the glue that connects the whole system. For more information logon to www.paylock-generator.com .The computer and the Internet make these whole automated marketing systems possible. Closely studied and dissected, these systems are complex, intricate creatures solidly embedded into the Internet and the lives of millions around the globe. Together it’s enabling lifestyles that offer mobility, freedom and enrichment never before seen this side of a Powerball win!

When you picture these complex marketing systems, don’t think of computers, databases, autoresponder, and wires. Rather, picture a sun-drenched tropical beach with a light breeze and a clear blue sky. Picture a person sitting to one side, checking daily sales stats on a cool sleek shinny laptop. Don’t forget to zoom in close and you will notice a slight smug smile. But don’t stop there, if you stare really hard and think about what you have just read, you will have a clear view of an Internet marketing system.

Dodge La Femme

Origin

The La Femme’s Raison D’tre stemmed from Chrysler’s marketing department’s observation that more and more women were taking interest in automobiles during the 1950s, and that women opinions on which color car to buy was becoming part of the decision making process for couples buying an automobile. The La Femme was an attempt to gain a foothold in the women’s automobile market.

The La Femme concept was based upon two Chrysler show cars from the 1954 season. Named Le Comte, and La Comtesse, each was built from a Chrysler Newport hardtop body, and each was given a clear plastic roof over the entire passenger compartment. While the Le Comte was designed using masculine colors, the La Comtesse was painted “Dusty Rose” and “Pigeon Grey” in order to convey femininity. Favorable responses encouraged Chrysler to pursue the La Comtesse concept.

1955

Dodge received the project and renamed the concept the La Femme, which began as a 1955 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer “spring special” hardtop two-door coupe, painted “Sapphire White” and “Heather Rose”. From there, the exterior received special gold-colored “La Femme” scripts that replaced the standard “Custom Royal Lancer” scripts on the cars front fenders.

The interior of the car also received attention and features. 1955 La Femme interiors were upholstered in a special tapestry material featuring pink rosebuds on a pale silver-pink background and pale pink vinyl trim. The La Femme also came with a keystone-shaped, pink calfskin purse that coordinated with the interior of the car. The purse could be stowed in a special compartment built into the back of the passenger seat, and its gold-plated medallion faced outward. This brushed-metal medallion was large enough to have the owner’s name engraved upon it.

Each purse was outfitted with a coordinated set of accessories inside, which included a face-powder compact, lipstick case, cigarette case, comb, cigarette lighter and change purse, all made of either faux-tortoiseshell plastic and gold-tone metal, or pink calfskin and gold-tone metal, and all were designed and made by vans, which was a maker of women’s fine garments and accessories in Chicago, Illinois.

On the back of the drivers seat was a compartment that contained a raincoat, rain bonnet and umbrella, all made from a vinyl patterned to match the rosebud interior fabric. Dodge marketing brochures for the La Femme stated clearly that the car was made “By Special Appointment to Her Majesty… the American Woman.”

1956

For 1956, the La Femme returned, with no less fanfare; letters to dealers from Dodge marketing department called the La Femme a “stunning success”. For 1956, Dodge replaced the Heather Rose and Sapphire White scheme with a Misty Orchid and Regal Orchid color scheme. The interior of the car in 1956 did not take its cue from the 1955 model, and instead featured “La Femme” only seat patterns, headliner, interior paint and carpet. The fabrics used have proven very difficult to reproduce. The seat coverings were made of a heavy white cloth with random, organic-seeming patterns of short lavender and purple loops, in a manner very similar to loop-pile carpeting. The headliner cloth was also heavy white fabric, with many, tiny random splashes of gold paint. The carpeting was loop pile with several shades of lavender and purple. The boxes behind the seats were also changed for 1956 to accommodate the rain coat, rain cap and umbrella that came with the model. Both boxes were identical this year, because there was no need for accommodation for a purse, which was only offered with the 1955 La Femme.

Legacy

Sales material for the 1956 Dodge La Femme

Dodge dropped the La Femme for 1957 and did not revisit the concept. Because the La Femme was a $143 option package, its total production was never broken out from Dodge’s production numbers, although research suggests less than 2500 were made over the two-year period. At least 40 known examples exist of the 1955 version and over 20 for the 1956 version, including at least 3 verifiable D-500 optioned 1956 La Femmes.

Many theories exist concerning the low sales of the LaFemme trim package. No evidence of magazine, television, radio or other LaFemme advertisements have ever been found since 1986. Given the large number of Dodge dealerships in the U.S. at the time, very few of them ever received a demonstration LaFemme for their showroom. Instead, single-sheet dealer pamphlets were the only clue that Dodge LaFemmes were available for purchase, in a time when other trim-special models such as the Chrysler 300 letter series, Plymouth Fury and DeSoto Adventurer were widely and enthusiastically promoted.

4 Remote Controlled Vehicles – Tips To Identify The Best One

There are many hobbies around the world but none more fun than the radio controlled hobbies that many people seem to enjoy. What could be more exciting than taking a fully efficient miniature vehicle version of a real car and driving or flying it? All it takes is a basic familiarity for motors and the radio equipment for you to join in.

1. Remote Control Cars –

Many men remember when they were young boys getting a remote controlled car to play with. Due to this, it is not surprising that this simple yet exciting toy is still the most fun. However, many may argue that this is no longer true.

These cars are created so the user can steer, speed up and slow down as they need it. Nowadays, this can be done in a couple of ways.

Some cars are designed to be battery operated; others are equipped with a gasoline or nitro methane engine. Why would someone change their car? Many notice that battery powered cars have less speed than gas or nitro fitted. These cars can come in kits that are already pre-done, meaning there are no special parts that can be added. (This is a good idea for someone new at remote control cars.) People can also build their remote control car from scratch meaning they will take parts from anywhere to make and design their car.

2. Remote Control Boats –

While a remote control car is very popular to have, for enthusiasts having a boat can be fun too. It is pretty easy to convert toy boat and make it into one that can be controlled by remote. The only issue to this is the boat’s electrical parts and engine need to be kept in a waterproof area.

How can a person keep the engine and electric parts from getting shorted out? It can be done by positioning the engine in the boat’s hull with the propeller coming out from under the water into a water tight seal.

It would not be a bad thinking to acquire a kit with a pre-made boat. This can save time and money from trying to create your own, which could cause waterlogged or even ruined engines.

3. Remote Control Planes –

Remote control planes cause the most problems for people but more so for beginners. Why? Planes need accurate measurements and calculations to keep in the air.

It is easy to procure a kit to make a plane. In the kit there will be pieces that will need to be cut out and all you will have to do is bond them together. After that, you can add the radio and motor equipment. Should you be of the audacious type, you can purchase wood of lightweight origin and make a plane done from scratch using the wood and other plane parts.

4. Remote Control Helicopters –

Helicopters, like planes, are not the only thing that can be flown in the air. Like a plane, the costs is relatively the same. Although a helicopter is able to go backwards, forwards and hover mid-air unlike a plane.

With four different types of remote control vehicles to choose from, all that is stopping you from enjoying this technological hobby is you.

Go Off Road With A Remote Control Truck

Many people have some kind of hobby that they dedicate their life to.  Some choose to collect sports cards and others choose to collect comic books.  Some people collect trinkets that only just sit there for people to look at, others might collect dolls.  Since the 1960’s, toy and car enthusiasts have flocked to a hobby that combines both their passions.  That hobby is RC vehicles (remote control trucks, boats, cars, airplanes, and helicopters.)  The good thing about collecting these models is that you can put them in a display and set it on the mantle for all to see and admire, or you can actually take them outside and play with them.

One of the many different vehicle types you can purchase in model form, are remote control trucks.  In the past, the most popular style of RC truck you would see was a stadium style truck.  Now the most popular toy truck people buy is modeled after monster trucks.  The older stadium trucks were ideal for flat and smooth dirt surface tracks, while the monster trucks you see today are fitted for a more rugged terrain, much like the differences between the real life versions.  The monster truck variety of model vehicles even features the giant oversized tires found on the real thing.

The early kinds of remote control trucks were not nearly as refined as the models you see today.  They were pretty much the same base as a remote control car, just with a truck body.  If you tried to drive one of the older models through any kind of terrain that was the slightest bit rougher than grass or pavement, the truck could not handle it.  Also, with the older models, you would buy a kit and have to pretty much put together the whole truck.  Luckily, most of the models come already put together.  You may have to put together a big piece or two, but most of the work is done for you.

The remote control trucks of today have advanced quite a bit from the older models, as small as they may be in size, today’s models pack a ton of technology inside.  They now feature suspension, detailed engines, life like steering, and other electronics.  It may even be difficult for someone not familiar with RC vehicles to mistake a photo of a model for the real thing.

Introduction to Gas Powered Remote Control Vehicles

Are you new to the RC racing world? Read this article to get yourself started in this fast paced hobby.

There are many ways on how to start with gas-powered RC car or truck. There are many realistic features offered by these remote-controlled cars and trucks. They come in a variety of styles and types in the industry. In choosing one, there are many considerations you should take before eventually owning one.

Radio-controlled cars and trucks lack the power and running time. But if you want to consider, you can convert them into gas powered RC cars, with the use of nitromethane-based fuel. This fuel provides RC cars a level or realism or performance, which are absent on other battery-powered vehicles. Aside from this, they are also highly customizable making it possible for you to integrate RC car accessories and personalize them. There are options of engines and transmitters available to allow you to choose one depending on how you’d want the RC car works.

To help you begin in finding the right gas-powered RC car, the following are the factors you should consider:

1.    Engines. The most important aspect in a gas RC car, you can choose from the variety of engine models available to choose from. Generally, most RC cars use a specific type, which is commonly called as “glow” engine. It is a 2-cycle combustion engine, which creates power to the RC car preparing it for realism that also produces exhaust in the process. In replacement of spark plugs utilized by automotive engines, a “glow plug” is used for this engine. It is being heated in turn by a “glow starter.” The heat will be held by the “glow plug” to which this is now used to fire engine strokes for rest of the running power.

2.    Fuel. Just like the actual gasoline used in automobiles, the nitromethane-based gas fuel the RC cars. The fuel mixture is formulated with special lubricants so that it protects the engine from the excessive heat produced by the combustion process. The lubricants are the same with the gas-oil you use with your small engine equipments or some chainsaws. Accessories such as a special bottle pump may be needed to get nitro-fuel into your fuel tank of the RC car. Filters are also used on these cars and the same with your automobile they require replacement at a proper time interval.

3.    Radio. Radio controller is used to control the RC car and could be same type used on electrically-powered RC cars. It is radio controller operates on 2-channel system that needs batteries to make it work. Additional batteries would be needed to power the receiver though there are other receivers that are fed from the motor itself.

4.    Sport or competition. This is an aspect you most considered when choosing body style. There are different options for you; you have choices from sedans, trucks, buggies, stock cars, and other popular car models. These are basically available in two versions: sports, and competition version. Sports RC cars typically cost less than the car you intend to race, which of course would need more power and higher speeds. Ball bearings and oil shocks are some of the advanced options included for the competition RC car version.

Depending on the type you need, RC car kits and ready-to-car or RTR kits are available. If you are a beginner, RTR kits are what you need as this comes out of the box ready for the fuel. RC car kit, on the other hand, requires heavy work but allows you to decide how they would be put together.
